Cocoon Apothecary was founded in 2003 by Jessica Burman in Kitchener, Ontario, after a single well-made botanical cream transformed her mother's skin and sparked a deeper question: what happens when skin is supported rather than overwhelmed? That curiosity led Jessica through formal aromatherapy certification, perfumery studies in Grasse, France, and hands-on plant distillation training — and ultimately to a skincare philosophy built around fewer, better, more compatible ingredients. Every Cocoon formula is still made in small batches just 2 km from their spa and retail store, Ecocert COSMOS Certified Natural and Organic, and designed for performance without inflammation. For over 20 years, they've grown quietly through word of mouth from people who finally felt understood by their skincare.
