Prairie Soap Shack is Jess and her husband — a husband-and-wife team raising two adventurous boys on a generational grain farm in central Alberta. Jess founded the business in 2019 during maternity leave from a 15-year nursing career specializing in wound care and skin integrity, bringing both clinical knowledge and a deep love of the land to every formula. Using time-honored methods rooted in centuries of tradition, Prairie Soap Shack creates soaps, herbal balms, and skincare from the highest quality oils, free from synthetic fragrances and artificial colors — with botanicals either wildcrafted near the farm or grown from seed in their own organic garden. Their ingredients meet strict EcoCert and COSMOS standards, their packaging is zero-waste and recyclable, and much of their inspiration comes from long talks with Jess's mom and lessons learned from her grandmother.
